Paraffin Based Emollients - Risk of Fire Policy
Paraffin-base skin products are widely prescribed and dispensed for various skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.
They are safe to use but can soak into clothing, dressings and bedding leaving a flammable residue which could result in serious injury or death.
This policy details how you will ensure the safety of your Service Users who are using paraffin-based creams.
We have included an A4 poster with this policy to help you raise awareness with your staff.
